Project Overview
Drapr, a YC backed startup, was acquired by GAP to reduce product returns by utilizing 3D fitting technology.
As a founding team member, I assisted in resolving several intriguing and intricate issues in the ecommerce domain.
The 3D Fit Finder tool on the Gap and OldNavy website and apps revolutionizes online shopping by providing an innovative way to find the perfect size and fit for clothing items. Using physics based gen AI simulation, this tool enables users to create a personalized avatar based on their body measurements and preferences.
Customers can choose from a range of styles from GAP and OldNavy and model them on their 3d replica to check the fit of the clothing. This could potentially save substantial time, as well as lower the number of returns.

With over million customers for OldNavy and Gap, incorporating 3D Fit
was challenging yet rewarding. This led to a lot of returns and increase in sales too.

Product returns have emerged as a significant concern for numerous
online businesses globally. For us, understanding the root of this dilemma was of utmost significance.
98% of users working within the pipeline faced repetition of workflows.
More than 65% users reached out to the senior leadership for way around.
As a part of process dev team at GAP Inc. I was tasked to design and prototype tools/plugins that could speedily 3d artists workflow for 3D Content Management system.

Plugin Highlights
During my time at GAP Inc., I was responsible for designing automation-driven plugins to streamline workflows
and reduce lead times. I strategized and developed 8 plugins, with 5 achieving over 90% efficiency.
Collaborating with developers, I recognized the crucial role of thorough documentation and its significant
impact on the process.Below is a list of the plugins that assisted 3D designers in creating simulated assets,
later utilized for the 3D fit feature on the GAP and Old Navy e-commerce platforms.
CLO Export plugin
The CLO Export plugin significantly streamlines the workflow for 3D designers by allowing them to export multiple file formats, including .OBJ and .mtl, in just a matter of seconds.
Previously, this process required up to 8 hours of manual work, as designers had to individually export files, often dealing with complex settings and formats. With the plugin it got reduced to just 3 hours.
Techpack Measurement
Conversion Tool
TMC or Techpack Measurement Conversion is a tool that is designed to download all the relevant techpacks in an excel format.
Adding to that, it comes with all the value differences between the sizes, removing the need of manually calculations and help improve the overall work efficiency by cutting down the previously time consuming tasks.
Geo map inspector
Designed to automatically recognize image features on a large number of maps generated in the Geometry Pipeline, as well as to check the spelling of the maps and metadata.
The primary goal of this application is to guarantee that all spellings follow SOP in order to prevent disruptions to the pipeline and enable smooth resuming of operations.
UV Generator
The UV generator identifies irregularities in UV mapping before the designer gives final approval.
The primary goal of this application is to guarantee that all spellings follow SOP in order to prevent disruptions to the pipeline and enable smooth resuming of operations.
Geo QA Viewer
The Geometry QA Viewer is a plugin built to visualize 3D assets under various lighting conditions, enabling users to evaluate fabric drape effectively.
The primary goal of this application is to guarantee that all spellings follow SOP in order to prevent disruptions to the pipeline and enable smooth resuming of operations.
