Problem / Proposal Statement
How can India's non-literate population (The upcoming billion users) obtain essential data and utilities, especially pertinent to education, everyday livelihood, and state programs? Could an app offer a solution to the solution ?
Presenting Doast (Friend in Hindi Language)

This is a prototype application carrying potential for further growth and refinement, incorporating LLM with APIs like chatgpt 3.5, speech-to-text, Google Maps, and so on. I'm expanding my knowledge on how to merge these technologies into my existing conceptual framework.
UX RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
On this occasion, I travelled to my rural home in Kendrapada district, Odisha, India, to conduct interviews with several illiterate villagers. The aim was to engage them with OpenAI's ChatGPT to ascertain whether they found a conversational user interface to be user-friendly.
In this endeavor, I've attempted to decode the fundamental problem of accessible technology for Indians lacking literacy.
USER PERSONA
Since Google Sheets did not suit them, I individually posed questions in their vernacular and documented the results.

Low- Fid Wireframe
Overview
This project's low-fidelity wireframes presented an unique challenge: I had to craft an interface that was both straightforward and streamlined, minimizing screen options to suit an audience in India with low literacy rates. Many iterations later, the final wireframe emerged – the blueprint from which I embarked on the final product design.

BRANDING
For this specific endeavor, the method was progressive, and comprehending the needs of individuals lacking literacy proved extremely challenging.
The Digital Divide: Inhabitants of rural and semi-urban regions find it challenging to grasp governmental policies, comprehend financial literacy, and access educational tools due to the disparity in digital literacy.
Desire for Clear Understanding: Visitors crave straightforward interpretations of complicated subjects and programs. They yearn for advice customized to their personal requirements.
Desire for Accessibility: Users prefer mobile platforms due to their widespread accessibility. However, they require user-friendly interfaces and multilingual support.
Offer innovative products and services: The Indian credit card market is becoming increasingly competitive. By offering innovative products and services, this would differentiate itself from its competitors.

Government initiatives
Literacy rates over the years with gender comparision.
Since Google Sheets did not suit them, I individually posed questions in their vernacular and documented the results.
Inaugurated in 1988, the National Literacy Mission committed to achieving a 75 percent literacy rate by 2007. Its main obligation is to provide practical literacy skills to those who are illiterate, aged 35–75 years. The principal tactic to eliminate illiteracy is their Total Literacy Campaign. The scheme of Continuing Education offers a cohesive education path, enhancing the initiatives of the Total Literacy and Post Literacy programs.

Problem Statement:
Illiteracy in India presents a significant barrier to accessing essential information and services, hindering individuals from engaging in education, navigating daily challenges, and leveraging government initiatives.
Existing technological solutions often rely on text-based interfaces, which increase the struggle for illiterate individuals to access necessary information.
Proposal Statement:
Develop a mobile app named Doast powered by the Bard / ChatGPT 4 API, featuring a conversational interface led by a virtual assistant, Rekha.
Doast aims to bridge the gap for illiterate individuals in India by providing an intuitive platform for easy access to information, education, and government services. Rekha's conversational interface offers a simple, voice-based solution, allowing users to inquire, navigate, and receive assistance without the need for reading or writing skills.
